چکیده

A comprehensive study of magnetocrystalline anisotropy a layered van der Waals ferromagnet $\mathrm{V}{\mathrm{I}}_{3}$ was performed. We measured angular dependences the torque and magnetization with respect to direction applied magnetic field within basal $ab$ plane general orthogonal $ab$, respectively. twofold butterflylike signal detected by in plane. This symmetry remains conserved throughout all regimes as well through known structural transition down lowest temperatures. The maximum resulting easy axis is significantly tilted from normal \ensuremath{\sim}40\ifmmode^\circ\else\textdegree\fi{}. close relation crystal structure documented. In contrast, two-fold-like paramagnetic region monoclinic phase, which transforms into six-fold-like below Curie temperature ${T}_{\mathrm{C}}$. With further cooling, another an shift \ensuremath{\sim}30\ifmmode^\circ\else\textdegree\fi{} grows approaching ${T}_{\mathrm{FM}}$. Below ${T}_{\mathrm{FM}}$, triclinic original vanishes, being replaced secondary \ensuremath{\sim}30\ifmmode^\circ\else\textdegree\fi{}.

The van der Waals interaction

The interaction between charged particles via the Coulomb interaction is one of the most important features in physics and is familiar to any student of the subject. The way in which electrons and protons bind to form the hydrogen atom is also well known and is a staple of any quantum mechanics course. However, less familiar is the interaction between such bound systems at separation R, which i...

Breaking van der Waals molecules with magnetic fields

Manipulating dynamics of molecules with external fields has long been a sought-after goal of experimental and theoretical research. Several groups have studied elastic and inelastic collisions of ultracold alkali atoms in the presence of Feshbach scattering resonances [1–6]. It was found that the probabilities of elastic collisions and inelastic energy transfer undergo dramatic changes near Fes...

Dynamic van der Waals theory.

We present a dynamic van der Waals theory starting with entropy and energy functional with gradient contributions. The resultant hydrodynamic equations contain the stress arising from the density gradient. It provides a general scheme of two-phase hydrodynamics involving the gas-liquid transition in nonuniform temperature. Some complex hydrodynamic processes with evaporation and condensation ar...

Emergence of Kondo lattice behavior in a van der Waals itinerant ferromagnet, Fe3GeTe2

Searching for heavy fermion (HF) states in non-f-electron systems becomes an interesting issue, especially in the presence of magnetism, and can help explain the physics of complex compounds. Using angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy, scanning tunneling microscopy, physical properties measurements, and the first-principles calculations, we observe the HF state in a 3d-electron van der Waa...

Supercurrent in van der Waals Josephson junction.

Supercurrent flow between two superconductors with different order parameters, a phenomenon known as the Josephson effect, can be achieved by inserting a non-superconducting material between two superconductors to decouple their wavefunctions. These Josephson junctions have been employed in fields ranging from digital to quantum electronics, yet their functionality is limited by the interface q...
